Underwriting Business Analyst

Reporting to the Director, Analysis and Pricing, this role requires the ability to problem solve and analyse on a wide range of processes, from assignment of rate territories to new postal codes, to resolving data integrity issues with industry data aggregators like CGI and IBC.  Our Underwriting Business Analyst requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills in order to effectively support administrative and operational functions, many of which are of a time sensitive nature.


Responsibilities include:
• Monitor, respond to, and investigate underwriting Q & A inquiries
• Manage IBC errors, problems, electronic error corrections
• Investigate and report on system errors
• Rate table updates including rate group tables and postal code tables
• VIN Management (MTO, VINlink and exceptions)
• GAPI management (Monitor/Correct MVR and Auto Plus load errors)
• Testing system changes
• FA Risk Sharing Pool policy entries
• Liaise with industry data reporting contacts (i.e. IBC, FA, CGI)


The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Minimum of three years insurance related experience 
• University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience
• CIP designation or in the process of achieving it
• Excellent knowledge of RTM and Duck Creek Technologies systems
• Knowledge of CSIO Standards, IBC/GISA Statistical Plans and Error Edits
• Proficient skill with computer applications including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work well under pressure with minimum supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill
• Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, and deadlines
• Strong customer service skills.
